Being a Kid is so Much Harder Now: Navigating Youths' Mental Health in the Classroom
This training will offer an overview of Barriers that are unique to the Spanish-Speaking population and discuss ways to overcome them – How to detect signs of distress in students and differentiate between “normal” worry/stress and a mental health disorder – Commonly occurring disorders and effective treatments – Ways members of the youth’s support system (i.e., parents, mental health providers, school, churches, etc.) can work together.
