SPROM is Archway Academy's version of a traditional high school prom, reimagined for teens navigating recovery and mental health challenges. It's a joyful, safe celebration — complete with dinner, dancing, photos, and the kind of peer connection that is itself a powerful part of healing.
In a world where prom is often associated with substance use, SPROM offers something different: a space where sobriety is celebrated, where mental wellness is honored, and where every student gets to experience the milestone they've earned. No pressure, no compromise — just one incredible night.
The Experience
What to expect at SPROM.
SPROM is designed to give every student the full high school prom experience — in a space built around their wellbeing.
Dinner & Dancing
A catered meal and DJ-led dance floor. Students celebrate the night together in a fully sober, fully energetic environment.
Photos & Décor
Professional prom photos and beautifully themed décor. Students get the photo memories they deserve — dressed up and proud.
Peer & Clinical Support
Recovery staff, clinicians, and APG peers are present throughout the evening — not to police, but to support. Students can enjoy the night at their own comfort level.
A Truly Safe Space
Zero substances, zero pressure, zero judgment. SPROM is designed from the ground up to honor students' recovery journeys and mental health — not to test them.
Open to All Teens in Recovery
You don't have to be an Archway student to attend.
SPROM is open to all teens in recovery — including students from other schools and recovery programs across Houston. If you or someone you know is navigating substance use disorder or mental health challenges and deserves a night to celebrate their progress, SPROM is for them.
We believe recovery is worth celebrating. We believe mental wellness is worth honoring. And we believe every teen in Houston who is doing the hard work of getting well deserves a night that says: you belong here, and we're proud of you.
